7 Quotes To Make The Most of Today

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the one day at a time podcast with your host and the future leader of The Republic Of Wales, Sveldfjer. Now this might be the only podcast in the world where you actually have to reduce the speed instead of increasing it. However, what I wanna get over to you is that the past is gone. The future doesn't exist. So if you wanna make the most of your life, you've gotta make the most of these moments every single day.

Speaker 1:

And this podcast is gonna help you live a healthier, more fulfilled life, hopefully, giving you some wisdom to take away every single day. So I'm gonna shut up now so you can get on with listening to the next episode.

Speaker 2:

Good morning everyone, hope you're well. Maybe you can tell by my voice but I'm ill, really ill at the moment. Nothing I can't endure as Marcus Aurelia says, if you can endure it, endure it, It's fine. I'm not dying. This is horrible, guys.

Speaker 2:

I don't what's going on. I saw Jackie do a post by some Cambridge PhD talking about there's a huge up case in rhinovirus. I was like, what the hell is rhinovirus? He's like, oh, it's just the name for the common cold. I was like, oh my god.

Speaker 2:

If you went out to the public that the common cold was gonna get called rhinovirus, imagine how much people will panic. Do you know mean? The the brand the viruses makes a difference. But gotta get on with it. You know, you have you have waves on your own, don't you?

Speaker 2:

Like, you know, when I take a neurofenosamine, nothing better for a bit. Could do some work, do something, and then it hits you, and you're out for a bit. So I want you all to live for me today, guys. I want you all to make the most of your healthy selves because all I can all I wanna do now is be able to be healthy again and be able to go for a walk and wake up without going, oh, just to have a nice day. That's all I want.

Speaker 2:

So for you, if you are not ill right now, make the most of not being ill because it will oh, sorry. It will come. Please, please make the most of it. Anyway, it's gonna be a short voice note. I got a few quotes, I wanna say.

Speaker 2:

So easy one for me. Nothing too strenuous, and I'm gonna try and sleep. So there's a few quotes I've came across the other day I really liked, maybe some stories behind them. See if they resonate with you guys. Remember, also for our turtle members, next Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, I'm doing back in the loop sessions.

Speaker 2:

I haven't confirmed the Tuesday yet because I have got plans in that evening, but it might be canceled. So I'll let you know about it, but please do turn up to them. Even if you have been a turtle for a while or came to Snowden, turn up if you wanna get a a boost, on, like, replant stuff. Anyway, anyway, let's go through some of these. Okay.

Speaker 2:

First one, learn to labor. No, sorry again. Learn to labor and learn to wait. I think just, again, another way of saying slow and steady one day at a time. Same as the analogy you said before the by the farmer.

Speaker 2:

The farmer's not putting seeds in and waking up tomorrow going, mate, where's this wheat like? Where is the wheat? You got you've planted it yesterday, man. I was like, oh my god. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

But where's I want it now. Past doesn't work, I mean. Sorry. Just doesn't work. Nature doesn't work like that, and you're not overpowered nature.

Speaker 2:

So for all of you new to the macros app, new to macros, and you're starting your journey and you think three weeks is a long time, four weeks is long, it's not. Okay. Give it more time, be more patient. I know we all wanna be in our best physique right now, but it just this is unreasonable. It just doesn't work like that.

Speaker 2:

And the sooner we accept other better because we're gonna keep struggling against ourselves, aren't we? So be patient with stuff. Put the work in today. Put the best work in possible today and wait and it will happen. Simple as hit your steps, hit your macros, consistent water intake.

Speaker 2:

I'm saying the solid takes. The solid takes. Okay. Next one. Fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Speaker 2:

I think this resonated to me because a lot of people when when you're, like, lonely, not doing any activities or going out into do stuff in the world, start developing fears, you know, anxieties, social fears, don't go to the gym, you're in your own head all the time. This loneliness and also the fatigue can cross fears. So this is why I want all of you to be big on the communities to jump into the sessions, sessions, talk, don't worry about breakout rooms. You've spoken a million times before, you're gonna speak well again, you're gonna talk to people about your stuff and it's gonna work. And I think getting rid of the loneliness is gonna happen over winter, we might go into another lockdown or whatever, is gonna reduce our fears about this whole thing about healthy eating and stuff, isn't it?

Speaker 2:

So I think that's important. Okay. This next one is a bit more upper level stuff in terms of, like, cosmic. You are a child of the universe. You have the right to be here.

Speaker 2:

I've always thought this as well. I've always thought we are the universe becoming conscious as it it exists because we're made of all the we're we're made of the matter of the universe. Right? Stay with me, guys. Stay with me.

Speaker 2:

It's not me being ill, lose my head. We have become we've come from the earth. Yeah? And now we are conscious like, wow, we've literally come from the earth. We've come from these particles.

Speaker 2:

Like, we've got carbon atoms in our body. The only way carbon atoms are formed is when the when a star explodes. Right? So we are literally made from stardust. We are made from the universe, but now we are aware of that.

Speaker 2:

And it's like we can think we can think about the thinker. We can observe the observer. We got this, like, crazy consciousness. Yeah. So we are the universe becoming aware it exists.

Speaker 2:

Now, like, and I don't know if that helps, but it helps me. Like, we are the universe. We've got the power of nature inside us. The epic Tita says as well, you are God. You've got God inside you.

Speaker 2:

So he says, I think that's what he's talking about. The Stoics talk about nature, and we're made of nature. We're made of the same substances the universe, which is what they would call essentially God. Next one. There's no disaster that can't become a blessing and no blessing that cannot become a disaster.

Speaker 2:

A % true. I got a story for you. Back in 2017, Rugby Warfare, you know, I was working on it full time, at this point, the second year into it. Things are going well. Made a few mistakes.

Speaker 2:

It was fine. And then managed to get some funding through investors for the brand, and I had a plan for it. Right? And what I what I did before that was very strategic in what I was doing buying stock and stuff. But then when I got up front cash, I changed the way I did the business, and I bought a lot of stock upfront.

Speaker 2:

Like, I spent all the money on stock upfront for Christmas. Now in September that year, my 20 birthday, I remember thinking I've made it. I've made it guys. I've done it. I've got the investment.

Speaker 2:

I've got the idea. I've got the products. It's gonna work. By January, few months later, that investment became the worst thing that happened to the business. It is the worst thing happened because I changed the way I did business.

Speaker 2:

I bought loads of stock up front thinking it's Elerol, didn't foresee the huge import duty and VAT bills, the DHL costs, the warehouse costing, and that bill came in Jan and it it basically the business was in huge amounts of debt that had to pay off. So I went from having a massive cash injection to being in a massive amount of debt very shortly. And again, that was a blessing in September, and I was a disaster in Jan. And it wouldn't have been a disaster in Jan if I didn't have that blessing. Do know I mean?

Speaker 2:

So I'm a bit more chill with stuff now. Something bad happens. Yeah. So it might lead to something good. Something amazing happens now.

Speaker 2:

Let's wait and see. I know it's quite like, oh, come on, you go enjoy. I do enjoy the moments %, but that was a big lesson for me. I was like, when you think you've done it guys, that when you're at the finish line, that's when you get tripped right up. Okay.

Speaker 2:

No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible. Yeah. Really good. All of us. Some decisions, voting, politics, all that stuff comes in.

Speaker 2:

One vote can make the difference, guys. I like this. I'm not like, I don't agree with a %, but I like how simple it is. Half, walk double, laugh triple, and love without measure. Quite a cool way to look at it.

Speaker 2:

Or eat a bit less, walk double, laugh all day, love without measure. Boom. And then the final one, a well spent day brings happy sleep. Again, a % agree. Saw this on one to one coaching as well.

Speaker 2:

If you leave no stone unturned, if you are honest with yourself, if you are tracking in the day, you're doing your steps and you're doing what you can, you go to bed that night and you have the best sleep ever because you know you've not left anything. You know you've done your best that day. When you do your best, you do a well spent day, you have good sleep. Good sleep because the best are possible to the next day and it keeps going guys. I promise you if you are honest with yourself because you know you're not deceiving yourself, right, if you deceive yourself and lie to yourself even a subtle stuff like oh I won't try this and that but I won't put a sit on you trying to hide it, it's gonna be in the back of your mind niggling.

Speaker 2:

It's gonna be there. Yeah. You you know, being honest here. You know, being honest here. And it builds up, guys.

Speaker 2:

So I want you to take on board today. Do your best today. Make the most of it. If you're not ill, you know, look, listen to me. Oh, Scott's he's ill.

Speaker 2:

He's not gonna have a best day. I'll try my best, but not gonna a best day. If you're not ill, you better go for your walk. You better go and have a bounce in your step. You better laugh triple and walk double because you can do it today.

Speaker 2:

You better go and do your workout because you will have days like me. Guys, you will get this. And you are gonna be like, oh, wish that. So please make the most of it today. I'm gonna leave it at that.

Speaker 2:

And, yeah, a well spent day brings happy sleep. And that is it

Speaker 1:

for today's episode. So hopefully you took something away from it. If you didn't, here's what we need to take away. Stop wasting time on social media. Stop wasting time gossiping.

Speaker 1:

You've only got a day to live. Today's the only day you ever have. So if there's anything to take away from this podcast, even if you can't understand the word I say, even if you didn't resonate with the wisdom I try to deliver, this is a reminder of you daily to live one day at a time. Give your moments meaning today, and don't be fooled by thinking you've got unlimited amount of days. But if you can make the most of today, I'm telling you, you'll have a fulfilled life.

Speaker 1:

So enjoy your day and hopefully I'll see you back tomorrow. Do daily to live one day at a time. Give your moments meaning today and don't be fooled by thinking you've got unlimited amount of days. But if you can make the most of today, I'm telling you, you'll have a fulfilled life. So enjoy your day and hopefully I'll see you back tomorrow.
