Football, Friends & Taking Action

Speaker 1:

Good morning, Yunutters. Hope you're all fresh or potentially hungover if you watched the game and went wild. But congratulations England. Huge win, and I love seeing the vibes that come off the games like that. It's just it's amazing.

Speaker 1:

It's next level. It brings people together. It brings a nation together. I it's cheesy but it does. So sports does.

Speaker 1:

That's why it's amazing and that's why I hope they do end up going through and winning because it's gonna uplift the nation and it's gonna show us a bit of normality back, isn't it? Which is awesome. But on Friday, I went back to Wales no. Thursday I went back, I did a detour from London to Stoke. Right.

Speaker 1:

Hell of a detour. Picked up a bar, went down Wales, put the bar together, together, the painting, and we had like a sixty minute makeover session basically. It was all crazy until Friday, because we knew Friday was the last sunny day for a while, to get the garden ready ish to show my mother. We were nearly there. We got up at 90% there, is good enough because obviously we worked we did as best as we could.

Speaker 1:

And it was amazing. She loved it. And also, know, now she's got a place to chill in the sun. And I think that's one of the most important things we need. We need to be able to sit down in the sun with friends and family, have a drink.

Speaker 1:

It's one of the best things about life. Just simple. People literally go on holiday just to sit on the beach in the sun for a week, right? If we can't have that ability back home, we keep trying to run away to do it or we keep thinking oh we can't do it and it sucks but being in the sun honestly it changes things. Bringing us a sun, that's why the sun god, that's why they worshipped the sun god years ago, come and go started, was the Romans or Greeks, know, I think was Egyptian was it?

Speaker 1:

You know, sun was a god to them. It is. It is. It gives you life. It gives you it gives you happiness.

Speaker 1:

It gives you joy. And you just need to be able to do it in a nice, chiller place, so it was good to see. Then I went to the working men's club on Saturday in the village, and it was it was quite full actually. And it was amazing to see everyone because, you know, you see people 18 to, you know, 70 in there. And it's like, you don't have that in cities where all age groups are, like, chatting to each other, having a laugh.

Speaker 1:

It's just something that you miss in a city. The cities just don't have it. They just don't. And, yeah, there's no, like, chat cross chat. When you go out in the cities, you're in your little pods and nobody talks to each other, and then you're in your pods.

Speaker 1:

You know I mean? So it's completely different. But, anyway, shout out to Scott Evans. So he's a few years younger than me, from the village I live in, Coltumbull. Well, I used to live in.

Speaker 1:

And, you know, he he came up to me, said he's been waiting for me to come out for years to ask me a few questions. But he said he was listening to the podcast. He's watching my YouTube videos about marketing and stuff like that, and he was on his way to work once listening to podcasts. And he decided to quit his job because he knew he didn't wanna do it, he wanted to pursue something similar to what I was doing. And fair play, like, massive, massive well done for doing that, taking action.

Speaker 1:

And, like, he was telling me that he's watching the videos, you know studying the things we're seeing and all that stuff and I think being curious and wanting to learn is a superpower because most people don't have it and they will not spend their spare time learning, researching, they'd rather spend their time numbing their brain watching TV or playing games. Right? That's the truth of it. So if you've got that, which Scott you have, you've got the thing that most people lack. All you need now is going the right direction, which hopefully the advice I gave is gonna help you do that.

Speaker 1:

And a word of advice to other people, you don't have to start from scratch all the time. If you want to do something, right, find someone who is doing what you want to do and reach out and you can learn from their mistakes they've done and you can have advice and can skip some of them some mistakes and you can kind of speed up the process of getting there by just asking and getting advice from them. Right? Simple as that. So be action taker.

Speaker 1:

If you're listening to this podcast and you're not taking action or you're listening to other podcasts like Elizabeth Day or you know other people audiobooks Think Like a Monk and you're not taking action what is the point in taking that information in? It's pointless, pointless. Don't even bother if you're not going to take action. So your theme this week is take action this week. Every day I'm gonna remind you one day at a time take action.

Speaker 1:

What are gonna take action? What's in the back of your mind you've wanted to do? You need to take action on it because now is the only time that exists right now. You can pass it off, pass it on, pass it on, pass it on. And then it just weeks and months and months and years, and then it's too late.

Speaker 1:

When they ask old people all the time, they ask them, what do you regret? They always say what they regretted not doing. See, there's a main thing they say. We can learn from them. We can learn from older people when we ask them questions.

Speaker 1:

It's like just do the things you wanted to do. Take the risks. Do it. Jim Rohn says, if you think trying is risky, wait until you get the bill for not trying. Even worse, living with with that for the rest of your life is horrible right but it just takes courage to take the risk to do it so this week do please please please take action right and see what happens.

Speaker 1:

You don't fail, you learn. And you keep going. Look. And it's of course, the the argument with with quitting jobs, work, starting your own business is the financial financial side. % get it.

Speaker 1:

Like, you need some kind of you need obviously to cover your bills and stuff. So it doesn't mean you have to quit everything, right, and go and just gamble. Take some in part time. Do some in part time. Drop, you know, cover your bills, spend your other time, make sure you spend your other time going towards your goal and you might end up there.

Speaker 1:

And if you don't, you'd have learned a lot in a way. There's always gonna be jobs about in reality. There'll be things you you know, you can take a job doing this and that. So, yeah, just, it's good, Scott fair play to you man I'm pleased and I think one of the other things he said and I'll finish this is you know he said yeah you said in podcasts you are who you spend your time with most five people you spend most your time with I was like yeah look look that's true but it doesn't mean you have to have that doesn't mean it has to be your five friends you spend time with this is the five people you listen to what information you let through into your brain so that can be people you listen to on a podcast like this could be audiobooks could be what you're reading. Those five are influencing you more.

Speaker 1:

Don't put too much pressure on your friends to be your guiding light in terms of business and your own personal journey that way because once you start doing that there's a lot of pressure and resentment builds up and I don't think it's very productive to do it. Look if your friends are negative and they're bringing you down then of course it's time you should reevaluate them, but I think equally as important as having friends who are there to say come on let's go and do it pushing you right and supporting you very important. There's also friends there who you know their values are not to be successful and make loads of money and go and be growth mindset they just have a laugh, they're nice to talk to, who you can relax with and spend time with in the sun having a drink and that's equally as important as the growth mindset type friends. I don't think we should try and mix them in, they should all cover all bases. And that's something I've learned like I've got friends in both camps and I appreciate both of them and sometimes you just need a relaxing chill out vibes and you don't need to be always thinking about what's next, how to improve my life, blah blah blah.

Speaker 1:

You just need to give your mind relaxation. And I think that's maybe a you know, maybe that's a lesson for everyone listening, is to do that. But other than that, guys, take action this week. What are you gonna what have you needed to do? Just do it today.

Speaker 1:

What's your one big thing today? It's a new week, a sunny down in Wales here. If it's not sunny there, sorry. But, you know, make sure you start off with a walk and you do your macros and stuff like that. The macros app is nearly ready.

Speaker 1:

What I'll say is that I need to add in because I was out on this on Saturday, and then Sunday was a write off, is there needs to be an option in app where you just need to basically say, look, I didn't track today, but let me let me answer a few questions so we can kind of guess. And I think I put down Friday was on my feet all day, hardly ate, so I'd be like, no idea what I didn't eat, so I underate. So they'll just say, okay, you underate this day, we'll guess it was, you know, you hit your macros maybe, not not enough protein, no. But then on Saturday, say, look, drunk excessively, ate, don't know what I ate to be honest, no clue, and I say right well we just put in that you went over your macros, maybe went over maintenance by a bit. At least we have something down then data wise.

Speaker 1:

I think I'll have to find a way of like asking a few questions that we probably would know the answer to where we can guesstimate so at least we don't have blank days we have like solid estimations. Do know I mean? But any other feedback for the app let me know. I've been using it for a while now and my weight is coming down beautifully because I'm always using the macros planner around the football and stuff is awesome. So yeah happy days, I hope you have a good day guys one big thing get it down and I'll speak to you tomorrow.
