New Dawn

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the one day at a time podcast where we forget about yesterday. We don't worry about tomorrow. It's what are we going to do today? This all matters because you've only ever had or will ever have the fantastic twenty four hours a day you're about to embark on. Hopefully this episode is going to give you some daily dose of wisdom that you can take action on today to improve your life.

Speaker 1:

And remember, all it takes is one day at a time. Good morning everyone it's a new dawn. The striking soul challenge is over but now we're going to look forward to solidifying the membership and making sure that everybody is getting into a new routine and one that works for you. So don't worry if you feel this week's overwhelming because there's so many things on. You might be like, oh my God, there's so many things to choose from, what should I do?

Speaker 1:

I've addressed this thinking in last week voice note, we're going to cut down on the offering but we're going to want to help you pick the right one for you. So today like if you're new to the voice notes or not, there's something you need to get into doing each day and it's called the OBT so it's your one big thing. So most people go through their days and they have a list of like 10 things to do. And basically what happens is for some reason we procrastinate, we don't get it done and then by the end of the day we kind of do things that are not really main things. And we end up like neglecting the actual important stuff for stuff that are easier to do or stuff we're just gonna do.

Speaker 1:

And then it just adds up to frustration. You go to bed that night feeling frustrated. There's like background stress. This builds up over the week and then it gets to Friday and you've got stuff to do and you go to the come in and then you go to the weekend and then Sundays really hit you hard because you can't chill on Sundays because you've got so much you know you've to do on Monday. So to like get rid of all that, the best technique I've come across that helps me massively is what's called the one big thing.

Speaker 1:

So you just you simply pick what your one big thing to do today is that might be to do the breath work class. It might be the tracking macros 100% honestly and track everything. It might be to do the sweat and shred workout tonight. It might be just gonna get 10,000 steps in. It might be you're gonna go to the shop and buy the foods ready to start meal prep and your lunches and your your dinners.

Speaker 1:

And it might be just taking your time out this week to really pick three main things you're gonna do for the week and commit to them. So whatever your one big thing is, get it done and that builds momentum into the next tasks and then you get more done. Right? This is about tricking the brain basically. So one big thing, you get it done.

Speaker 1:

Okay. If that if that's all you did that day, the day is a success. Okay? That's the the good thing about the one big thing is you pick something that's quite quite big to do. So then days of success.

Speaker 1:

But once you get that one big thing done and sometimes early, it just builds momentum into the day and you get more tasks done as opposed to building a huge list and going, okay, well, suppose I start with this. And the good thing as well is there's something called the Eisenhower matrix, which you can look into and you can print them off and maybe do that once a week as well. But today, just pick where your one big thing is as a reminder to do it, reminder to ground yourself in this one day at a time philosophy like this podcast is called and really just make the most of today. Enjoy yourself. It's Monday, summer's coming, challenge is over, new membership starting, plenty of new things.

Speaker 1:

I can't wait to do the breath work myself, and and the sweat and shred tonight, where those are gonna start picking up. So really, like, it's easy to start looking in the future to be honest, but all we gotta focus on is today. We nailed today, and then guess what we gotta do tomorrow? Same thing again, we nail the next day. And that's all life is, that's it.

Speaker 1:

Your days, your days made up, weeks, weeks made up, months. But if you look after your days, your life will be sorted. So, you know, work out what works for you really. If it's the morning stuff, one big thing, you know, try all eyes and armatures, try them all out and see how it goes. But, yeah, let me know what your one big thing is in the comment below.

Speaker 1:

And, you know, let me know later on if it's been done as well. But any questions about the timetable, please do contact me. I'm available. I answer quite fast. Don't get overwhelmed.

Speaker 1:

And then just a few things in the macro spreadsheet. You can keep going on from the strike one, and you can just you're gonna check-in every seven days of data. So every time you click seven days, you send it into turtle, I live like Louise, and then we reply within three working days. And, you know, honestly, this is only gonna happen for another six weeks because then the Macros app is gonna come out. So it's it's kind of like a temporary thing now.

Speaker 1:

Six more weeks of filling that sheet out. You can still keep it out, keep doing it with the app as well, but, it's just a temporary thing. And that's it for this really. Exciting stuff. You got the mindset Q and A's for the newbies.

Speaker 1:

You got the nutrition Q and A on a Wednesday. You got book club. You got Friday review. And for the newbies, in the newbies group, we'll do a we'll do a little session this week as well at seven points. I'll put that in the events tab.

Speaker 1:

That's it for me today. Just wanted to check-in and say hello. Good morning. How are doing? And, seeing the breath working.

Speaker 1:

Hope let's get zen let's get zenned in or zenned out, whatever the terminology is. Let's get zen. Let's do a one big thing, and let's make the most of today because it's the only day you're ever given twenty four hours, one day at a time. Throw that people. And that's it.

Speaker 1:
