The Final Day
Welcome to the one day at a time podcast where we forget about yesterday. We don't worry about tomorrow. It's what are we going to do today? This all matters because you've only ever had or will ever have the fantastic twenty four hours a day you're about to embark on. Hopefully this episode is going to give you some daily dose of wisdom that you can take action on today to improve your life.
Speaker 1:And remember, all it takes is one day at a time. Hello. Guess what day it is? It is one of it's the last weekday of the challenge. So pat yourself on the back for doing this challenge.
Speaker 1:If you did one day, one week, two weeks, three weeks, whatever you did, fair play. You're in the arena. You have been in the arena this this six weeks trying to improve yourself, and that's what matters. People on the sideline are like, what are you doing? Oh, what are you doing that far?
Speaker 1:Yeah. You're not even in the arena, mate. Don't wanna talk to you. Look away. No.
Speaker 1:You're not trying. You're not putting yourself out there, putting yourself into situations where it's gonna be quite stressful and frustrating, of course. But those are the things that make us better people. So well done to all of you. And thank you all for listening to these voice notes.
Speaker 1:I really, really appreciate it. I hope you like the new format. They will continue in the turtle membership of course and I'll be doing more themed stuff, more structured to them. But yeah, massive, massive thanks to all of you on this challenge. Like this business is impossible.
Speaker 1:Like here comes the cheese. This business is impossible without all of you. But it's true. Like you've all since the Octagon last year, we've kind of found this kind of like, we'll say magic but kind of nearly as magic formula where we're trying to make sure that we withhold on I know there's some there's some frustrations maybe is the business getting too big to have this community feel. We hear you.
Speaker 1:I hear you loud and clear. We're doing things about it fast to make sure that we're bringing back that small pod community so you all get a chance to, make friends. Some of you might not want to make friends, but some of you just want to have that tighten it more like one to one thing and we're definitely going be focusing on us. For any of you signing up to the membership we're going to do it. We hear you and just excited to see what we can do with this business and with you lot over the next few years.
Speaker 1:If you think about it, I don't like slate in other businesses because it's not fair people are trying their best but when you look at all the other apps out there the training apps and you hear about these like other fitness influencers like I'm launching a new app you just know what's going to come to new, you just know what it is, you can't launch this new app game changing and you look at all of them, I get accounts and all of them. I'm like this is game changing like the same workouts in an app, all of you doing the same workouts in an app and then all of you got like a recipe guide. That's not game changing at all. We know by research, we know from experience of this business and research says that stuff doesn't do anything for long term change might give you a boost of motivation for workouts, nothing and community wise there. It's ghost town.
Speaker 1:And you know the same as like Jovix and stuff like that, it's just ghost town like and it doesn't work, don't care what people say if it doesn't work and this approach we got with this business is that we know that for something to work there needs to be a thousand times more time and effort putting things into one to one communication, building a community, getting to know you all, we're all humans at the end of the day, like, yes, we are the business side and you're like the member and the customer side. But I hate the way some people look at business and customers if they're like alien species or the other business and the customer, the customer's always right there for the business is evil, or like not feeling like that you can speak to a business in terms of like direct honest feedback. Like we need that. Like that's what I think the best thing and to build bonds with all of you as members for you to tell us what you want to see us do or what works, what doesn't. That's only going to build a better and better business.
Speaker 1:The better and better business is going to benefit you a lot as well. Like you compare the turtle membership to gym memberships and PTs not to nine pound apps. Like, you know, in MyFitnessPal £9 doesn't even give you check ins. It gives you ad free experience. Wow.
Speaker 1:Come on MyFitnessPal, you've been the same for the last ten years, come on. So yeah, that's kind of it in that regard. I'm just like, I'm like really excited for what we can especially when the world opens up. A lot of you might be worrying like what's going happen? Can I commit?
Speaker 1:Where can I adapt? Like we adapted to the coronavirus. We'll adapt when the world opens up. We'll make sure that we've got in person events. We make sure we're doing all our stuff to bring you all together in different parts of the country as well.
Speaker 1:Like yes, retreats to Ibiza sound amazing. That's way off in the future. That's when a business is making mega money they could spend it on. We don't have that luxury at the moment but you know this pipeline in the future, we'd love like the vision for this business is to have so many of you as groups going through things together. Lords of new friendship groups, Lords of new tight knit groups going through the fitness journey together.
Speaker 1:You basically Lords of you are currently still on fat loss goal, right? Fat loss is like level one. Once you unlock fat loss and you've done with the fat loss and you've got to a position you want to be, you unlock a whole new level of well-being where you're focused on a strength and performance and other things and then you feel amazing because you're not worried so much of a fat loss and you can't believe how much more mental energy you've got from not worrying about losing fat again and then you get performance and you start doing workouts and runs you start doing new things you feel amazing and then you start like that leaks through to your job and your relationships and then that transforms everything else and then you're actually looking at well how can I optimize my nutrition, how can I try new things and then you know the journey keeps going and keeps going you've got to maintenance you've got a surplus? Fat loss is just start of it. So don't think that, oh, I'm nearing my fat loss goal of like, like, I'm five pounds off the journey's at an end.
Speaker 1:You haven't that's hardly the start. That's like, you're like 5% through. So that's not to say for the people that have got a decent amount of fat to lose that you're like, you're not even starting. That's not what I'm trying to say. I'm trying to say is it's not all about fat loss.
Speaker 1:And eventually you will be able to go to maintenance and happy days. And that's the goal you need to stick to it. So hopefully we'll see all of you in the membership growing with us, see what happens. But again, thank you all. I love the feedback, anonymous anonymous feedback.
Speaker 1:As a business owner for many, many years, I used to not be able to take criticism easily when I go back to started Rugby War for 2015 and I had a fitness business before that for years and in that business I couldn't take criticism. Rugby War for a start I struggled and then you know, over time, you just get more mature about things. And actually, you welcome criticism. And it's even if it's like harsh and direct is what you need. And like rugby offers improved massively through criticism to improve and same with this business.
Speaker 1:We've improved massively from all your feedback forms. Know, customer isn't always right. Let's be honest. That's something that's like a myth going around there. But we do take it all on board and I and I appreciate it and if you haven't done the form yet please do it and give us your honest opinion and we will improve it.
Speaker 1:So I promise we're bringing in the one to one type of party stuff to the membership so you won't be feeling like it's getting too big. So that is a promise and commitment I'm making to you guys that we're not going to just turn us into any other businesses trying to sell like hundreds of thousands of memberships at £9 and everybody just turns into a cog in a machine or a number like we don't want to do that. We've had so much fun working with you all as individuals and getting to know different people from different backgrounds. We want to maintain that. So it is teething.
Speaker 1:So there's no other fitness business really doing what we're doing. And in terms of like how trying to be a tight knit with the people in the business and growing at the same time and trying to make hold that there's going to be teething problems, there's going to be wobbles and there's going to be changes to be rebalanced and we're doing a rebalance now. So we're doing rebalance new calendar, new time, world's opening up, happy days, what a day, what a week, what a challenge. That's it guys, I'm out, I'm out of things to say, need to get a new sleep. So any anything else you need let me know happy days but do remember it's still one day still twenty four hours okay you can't it's just because it's Friday doesn't mean you're not going to do your one big thing.
Speaker 1:If you've got a lot of work on get it done today so you know and stress on Monday, just get stuff done today. Don't use this day to slack because everyone thinks Friday is a slacking day. Give yourself the day properly to finish stuff off. And I promise you, you go into the weekend feeling a lot more relaxed and if you know you've left things in the tank, know you've left some stones unturned. So please do that today, get it done and enjoy your weekend and give yourself a massive clap for doing this challenge and kicking ass and graduating to Cobra Kai.
Speaker 1:Scott Sensei out. And that's it. Thank you for listening to the one day at a time podcast with your host, Galf Lier. Hopefully, you understood something I said. I hope that some wisdom kind of distilled through into your mind, and I want you to now action it today.
Speaker 1:I don't want you to think about tomorrow. I don't want you to think about yesterday. I don't want you to think about leaving a review on this podcast. I don't want you to think about going to another website. What I want you to do is as soon as this podcast ends, you will take action and make the most of today.
Speaker 1:Ground yourself today. Follow the one day at a time philosophy, and your life will change.
