The Mindset You Need This Week

Welcome to the one day at a time podcast where we forget about yesterday. We don't worry about tomorrow. It's what are we going to do today? This all matters because you've only ever had or will ever have the fantastic twenty four hours a day you're about to embark on. Hopefully this episode is going to give you some daily dose of wisdom that you can take action on today to improve your life.

Speaker 1:

And remember, all it takes is one day at a time. Happy Monday. It is the last week of the strike and soul challenge, and, it's gonna be a short one today. So some of you, you might feel a bit disappointed maybe. Some of you are like, I've been smashing it.

Speaker 1:

Some of you just come out of the valley of despair. Of you just had a shit weekend, and you feel behind and you feel you haven't made the most of it. Now I don't care if you had a bad weekend, and you shouldn't care either. I don't care if you haven't made the most of what does it make in the most of a challenge do? Remember the first few voice notes I said.

Speaker 1:

It's not about extracting every last drop of value, even if you took one thing away from a six week challenge, whether you're a turtle member who's getting it included in their membership price, whether you're someone who's paid £97 to do six week challenge, learning one thing that can change the trajectory of your life for the better is worth £97, by the end of the day £97 is just money you're gonna get back one day anyway, it's not exactly, you know, a huge amount of money in five years time. You won't even remember you spent that money, but what you will remember is you did a six week challenge and you might have taken that one thing from the challenge that set you up for the rest of the year. Now there's a lot of things going on social media saying, you know, COVID, you shouldn't have the pressure to get better during COVID and absolutely right. A lot of people's, instincts and, how they're thinking about COVID is survive COVID. You who are doing this challenge, you're not just aiming to survive, you're aiming to improve and thrive and all that type of stuff.

Speaker 1:

And I say huge, hugely, like, it's just a massive thing to do when the world is the opposite. Right? And, it takes courage to do it, and you need to remember that. You need to remember that you've decided to try and improve yourself during lockdown during COVID. And I don't want you to think that you have to have hit all your goals during this challenge.

Speaker 1:

Look. My weekend, my macros are out the window. I was playing macros unlimited this weekend, and it was it wasn't good. I did enjoy the foods and stuff, but you know what I mean? Everybody has weekends and days and weeks where they feel shitty.

Speaker 1:

But it is the last week. Right? And to make the most of the last week, you've got to make the most of every day coming up. And I don't want you to feel stressed about it, but pick what you want to do this week. Have you have if you've done have you done a yoga session yet?

Speaker 1:

Do one live. If you can't do a live, watch it back. You know, you do the boxing if you didn't do it yesterday. Start your week off strong. Track your macros honestly this week.

Speaker 1:

Please, please, please. If you haven't been honest with yourself, please decide this week. Do you know what? I know I have been leaving some gas left. I have got some gas left in the tank.

Speaker 1:

I haven't been empty in the tank every day. I know I haven't been trying my best, but you know what? It is the last week. Maybe this is what I need. Similar to deadlines in university, similar to school, we all leave it to the last minute to put all of our attention on it.

Speaker 1:

And maybe maybe you need this kick up your ass in the last week to make the most of it. And that's not a bad thing. Right? You know, when you realize that's kind of like a personality type you've got, then maybe in the future you work on it and maybe you do bit by bit going on. But maybe this is the kick up the ass you need to make something of this last week.

Speaker 1:

And again, there's so much you can learn. How much did you learn in the first week? You know, ask yourself, how much did I learn in the first week of this? And if you did the Christmas challenge, how much did you learn in the first week of the Christmas challenge? And so many people in comments like, I can't believe my mindset's already changing within the first week.

Speaker 1:

Well, why can't it why can't that happen in the last week? Of course, it can happen in the last week. You just gotta put the time, gotta put the effort in. Gotta commit now to the last week. So no feeling sorry for yourself, no of this victim stuff.

Speaker 1:

You need to just grip today. Today is the task at hand. You have to take today by the balls, right? You have to grab it and you know the best way I've come across doing this is to drill into yourself look it's one day at a time if I could do it for one day I could do it for two days. There's no weekend like the weekends gone.

Speaker 1:

I don't care. Like, leave it a go. What's your one big thing today? What you really wanna nail today is our macros. And I suggest if you are looking to lose weight, macros is the most important thing.

Speaker 1:

Have you been getting your steps in? You know, why haven't you been getting your steps in? Is it because the day runs away from you? Well, get them in now. Go for a walk now in the morning.

Speaker 1:

Get your steps in. Go to the shop. Like, it is, get your steps in. Might be you haven't done enough workouts and you wanna try new workers. If you've never done the boxing, do the boxing.

Speaker 1:

If you haven't done the hit with Ryan Louise do that, if you haven't done the stretch class do that, like do one of them. You buy a book for £10, change your life. You know? Some people might say, god, spend long books. Yeah. Well, one book, £10, change your life.

One challenge and £97, change your life. You've got access for life, mind. You've got plenty of time to do this and that right you've got plenty of time to fit there in you don't have to force everything in now but it's now time to bring it back in that was my new turtle shaker falling hint hint hint it's coming soon now is the time to bring back focus today pick your one big thing get it done Fistina Lente right the reason I love Fistina Lente I'm probably butchering how you say I need to ask Layla tonight. It means, haste slowly. So, basically, act with urgency, but have patience to the results, basically. Right?

So act with urgency now. Twenty four hours in a day to live live live live your day is your your life is made up of your days and then your days are made up of your moments I know it can sound cheesy but if you want to improve your life shock you gotta make the most of your days it's really that simple like so you have got a day given to you today, a gift, a new day, twenty four hours, whatever the hours you got, work, smile, laugh, make the most of it, and I'll see you in the q and a tonight. But don't panic. Don't worry. It's the last week.
