We leave nobody behind

Speaker 1:

Good morning everybody. So book club was last night another great session on tiny habits and one exercise I think all of you should do is to write out your anchor habits. What do you do every single day without fail? Whatever it is, brushing your teeth, taking the kids to school, driving into work, having a pee in the morning when we wake up, making a cup of coffee in the morning, making a cup of tea, speaking properly it was one maybe, having a cup of tea or coffee for lunchtime, know, tidying your desk at the end of work, list them all out because those are your moments of opportunity to add something else in, to add a small tiny habit in that will form something that will grow into a beautiful flower. Starts off small, so in the book it's like listen, brush your teeth do one press up, brush your teeth or do two press ups.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's all it is. Brush your teeth to do press ups in the morning. And so stories of people doing that, and then it turns into 10 press ups, turns into 15 press ups. And eventually turns into well, if I'm gonna brush my teeth and do I'm gonna do press ups, I feel like I want to spend the next few minutes or ten, fifteen minutes actually doing a workout. And then eventually people who never had time or were able to do workouts eventually like I brushed my teeth, started doing a bit of press ups and then got into doing full workouts.

Speaker 1:

But you have to give it time. You have to not put pressure on it. Give it really small. Some people are like when I put the kettle on I'm gonna do two squats. When I make my cup of coffee in the morning, I will put my first item of food in the macros app.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. I, Amadi for example, wanted to know how to, she could fit journaling in. Was like, well why don't you do what it says in the book? Where he says, every time you drop, when you drop off your kid to school, as soon as you know, you drop them off kids, as soon as you go about drive off or you turn the car keys off or whatever, you get your journal from the car and you write in it just a few lines. And then eventually you do that for you know three or four weeks it becomes a habit and you write the line a day before you know it because it's ingrained you're writing three lines a day.

Speaker 1:

You're then writing your one big thing out. You might write in your main problem out and actually having solutions for it and you take that five minutes in that car after you do the school run and then before you know it that's the you're solving work problems every type of problem. So you really need to do this exercise. It's very important. And, if you've got most people got 20 to 40 anchor habits.

Speaker 1:

Think about what you can fit into those and they could change your life. Start planting those little seeds now and they will flower, won't they? Like they're bound to flower if you, just give it time. And he talks about in the book as well that habits aren't actually formed necessarily with repetition even though it probably helps. This is a form by emotion.

Speaker 1:

You must celebrate at the end of habits, you must celebrate like yes, come on, I did a habit and that emotional response that kind of hardwires the habit and basically is what he says in the book. And if you think about it makes sense. When you do when a dog, when that dog first time pees outside, you go crazy celebration, you're jumping about as if you've like won the lottery. The dog must be thinking this is mental. This is amazing.

Speaker 1:

Feel awesome. I feel awesome. I'm do it again. I'm gonna do it again. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And it's like we are dogs. Maybe we're dogs. So give that a go and, let me know how it works. And read the book basically. Just read the book because it's important that we do implement what we read.

Speaker 1:

Otherwise, what is the point in reading? Read all the books in the world you want. You can read 300 books a year, what do they actually give for you? What are they doing for you? What is the result of the books?

Speaker 1:

Like Epictetus says in his, book two thousand years ago when he talks to a talks to an Olympic athlete whatever he talks about, it's like the Olympic athlete like look at the weights I'm using he goes don't care about the weights you're using, let me see those shoulders mate, where's the results of using those weights that's what I care about. He's like yeah yeah but look at the weights I'm using, nah nah nah nah, what is the result of using the weights? That's all that matters and don't talk a talk, show the game, show the action and see what is getting done from it. So I don't want you to say, yeah, read two books in book club during the octagon. I wanted to see you at the end of challenge event and I want you to say I go this, this and this out.

Speaker 1:

This is the actions that happened from book club. That is the main thing. And we basically need to become our own hype men and hype women, don't we? Think about if you, you know, sometimes you have your your best friends there when you're growing up and they're hyping you up and doing these things. Imagine you were your own hype person.

Speaker 1:

Like, it make it a lot you'd you'd you'd be chuffed a bit. You'd be feeling motivated. If you're pumped, you wanna do it again. So I feel like we need a bit more oomph in our days with a bit more smiles and a bit more energy and a bit more fun. Like this entire thing doesn't have to be like doom and gloom, do you know I'm saying?

Speaker 1:

We're living, we're alive, which is lucky to be alive in a nice place, you know, most of us are listening to this podcast, we've got technology to do so. And we sometimes need to be reminded that is where we were able to do this and we should do it with a bit of fun and a smile. So have a smiley face right now crack a smile open. Listening to a podcast and improve yourself. We are in the 0.1% of this world that are probably doing it right now.

Speaker 1:

Everyone else is being sucked away by the way the world is being boxed in, pulled away just kind of going through the motions, thinking that's what life is and that's it. That's it. Twenty, thirty years later go back, Oh, God, wish I you know, wish I did look after my health. Wish I did try and improve myself, I wish I did join an online community you know, I could have met a lot of new friends, maybe I should have done paid for that plan that cost nothing looking back. But you're here now, you've done that, you're in the community, you're making friends, you're making connections, God knows where they're gonna lead to, it's exciting.

Speaker 1:

That is exciting. You might meet you might come to the end of challenge event if you come in, know, meet someone or, you know, be introduced to someone in the real, become real good friends and you where's our where's it gonna go? Who knows? But that's the fun part. And the fun part's also like if we can do this in ten weeks, yeah, think of what we've achieved so far guys.

Speaker 1:

Please start. Look back at that frantic three days before you start the challenge. You're like, my god, there's so much information I can't do it, it's overload. Like while this guide page and this and now the guide where's everyone saved and you're like, ah frantic. Now you probably like some of the guides replays are there.

Speaker 1:

I got the workout logbook there, got the spreadsheet there, I'm using the app, happy days, using a daily diary in the app, getting my one big thing done every day. It's easy now. Think that's only, that's, it's only been more seven, fourteen, twenty. It's not even been thirty days, is it? We started on Feb the was it Feb the first we started?

Speaker 1:

Yeah. It's been twenty two days. It's been twenty two days. Guys, look how far you've come in twenty two days. Phenomenal stuff.

Speaker 1:

Imagine what we're gonna do. Is it twenty two days you've been? I feel I feel like I'm getting that wrong. No. It is, isn't it?

Speaker 1:

That's mad. Is that right? No. Thirty first we started. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. That's crazy, isn't it? +1, 71421. Yeah. That's mad.

Speaker 1:

Think of what we're do by the end of the ten weeks. Keep that in mind. And then think, if this is ten weeks of personal development, what does a year of personal development look like? What does three years look like? Oh my God, the person you're gonna be, oh my days.

Speaker 1:

The person you are gonna be in a few years of personal development, community support, the right people, the right experts, right nudge, the right tiny habits. I'm telling you the person you've always wanted to be is not far away. It's not far away at all and it doesn't matter if it takes you another six months, a year, two years to lose the weight you want to lose, the person you become is way more important. You'll be very proud of that person and it's gonna rub off on the people around you and you're gonna transform their lives as well. There'll be some friends who are looking now, oh what's she doing?

Speaker 1:

And they go, oh my god that's amazing, I went in. Yeah. Your husband or partner whatever it is gonna go, oh, yeah, what's this? And they go, do you know what? Class.

Speaker 1:

I mean, your kids, we've seen it. Christina's kid already set, set no. Was Lee's kid set in a book club. Christina's kid working out. The kids looking up to us, all of us.

Speaker 1:

We want to be a good, we want to be that shining light to them. Yeah. We want to be that person. You know for me lucky for me Bruce Lee was it for me. Know my mother was like love Bruce Lee films watching it and I remember boys in the park and I was younger you know the thuggy people are like smoking and doing like a bong.

Speaker 1:

And I was like, no, Bruce Lee wouldn't do this. And that kept me away. The simple fact of looking up, but Bruce Lee wouldn't do it. But we can be a real the real people to our the people around us. So I bear that in mind what you've achieved so far.

Speaker 1:

Matter, look if it's your fat loss is not where you want to be, do not panic. Let's speak to members that have been here four or five weeks nothing. Week six, boom, week seven, boom, boom, boom it keeps going. So be proud of where you've come. This voice note is just a reminder for her, keep going.

Speaker 1:

If you still feel you haven't really gotten moving, there's so much that's been achieved in twenty three days or whatever it's been. Yeah, So even if you start now, you're still building up. Louise is back on track. Louise is getting back into it. Maybe the word back on track is not the right word.

Speaker 1:

Louise is gradually feeling herself more. It's a slow process but I've seen it, that glimpse in her, I've seen it, the energy is coming back. Yes, I had a long old road for a long journey but can we be there with her? Can she be there with us? Can we make sure no one's left behind?

Speaker 1:

Reach out on people in WhatsApp groups today, ask is anyone struggling guys? Anyone want to chat? Anyone want to boost? You know reach out to your WhatsApp groups, help them. Let's help each other across the finish line.

Speaker 1:

Let's keep going. Because that last few weeks of this challenge is gonna be energetic, we've nearly there, we can see the finish line, we know it's coming, it's boom, yes. It's this week four to seven, this is the time we got to make sure we're leaving nobody behind, look at marathons. It's always like the last two thirds maybe, oh, dropping off. Can you do it?

Speaker 1:

But then the lot like he was saying, once you see a finish line, you can keep going. You can you can you even go harder towards the end. So guys, that is your cue to smash today. Get you one big thing done. Write your way.

Speaker 1:

As soon as this voice note finishes, you're to smile first. You're going to smile and you say unbelievable listening to this Welsh accent every day. You're going to go I hate the Welsh accent every day or you're going to say I'm gonna be able to get you're gonna finish his voice mail. You're gonna go, right. I can improve myself today.

Speaker 1:

I'm actually trying to I'm trying to improve myself today and that's amazing. And then you're gonna go, what's my one big thing? What's the one big thing I'm gonna do today? It's gonna make me close to my goals and you're gonna write it down. You're gonna go, I'm gonna get that done.

Speaker 1:

And you're gonna get it done with some conviction and you're gonna get it done with with some energy and you're gonna ideally get it done as soon as you can in the day so you can build momentum. And that is all your task is today. So remember you keep going. You keep going Octagonis. You keep going.

Speaker 1:

Octagonis. Octagonis. What we prefer guys is important and even though for the for the event. But Octagonis, enjoy your day. See you at the seminar with Hugh later.

Speaker 1:

They are awesome. If not, see you turtle radio. If not there, you're gonna see me again probably tomorrow. Maybe when I harass Dean on the turtle radio. I might I might join in, guys.

Speaker 1:

But enjoy your day. Speak soon.
